Your anesthesia provider will meet with you the day of surgery. He/She will listen to your heart and lungs, review your chart and confirm any changes in your health history. You will have the opportunity to ask questions and get any further explanations you might want. If you wish, your anesthesia provider can call you prior to your surgery to answer any questions you might have about your care. Your comfort and well-being are second only to your safety!
If you are prone to motion sickness or have had other anesthetics where this has been a problem, talk to your anesthesia provider. There are newer medications that help greatly in the treatment of post-operative nausea and vomiting, making your recovery a more pleasant experience.
